storing
The best way to keep spice powder is to follow these 3 rules. If you do, it can last for months, but it will inevitably lose its strong aromatic flavors over time. Since it’s easy to make, please check out our top three process to keep your spices at their best as long as possible.
TIP 1. LOCK IT DOWN
The aroma of spices is very volatile and their color fades away quickly, so be careful! Reseal the bag or replace the lid immediately, squeezing out the air in the packaging before zipping it tight after use, in order to keep out moisture and lock in the flavor!
TIP 2. KEEP IT DRY
Be careful to avoid sprinkling spices directly from the box over a steaming pot or plate. Steam can sneak into the spice bag and sap your spices' power.
TIP 3. KEEP IT COOL
Please keep spices away from heat and direct sunlight. Store them in a cool, dark place to maximize their preservation. In high humidity places, it may be better to keep spices in the refrigerator.
BONUS. USE IT FAST
Indeed, the best way to preserve and maintain the freshness of your spices is to eat them as soon as possible! We suggest using them within 2 months. So check out our recipes page to find good ideas to pair your spices!
